playboy-mansion-600x450The Playboy Mansion sale finally closed! Having gained all its rich legacy for over 45 years, this gorgeous mansion has a new owner. The selling price, disclosed by the purchaser, Daren Metropoulos – $100,000,000…! Which is half of what Hugh Hefner initially wanted to get for this estate when he listed the property in January. The deal to buy the house was first announced in June and closed August 17th, 2016.

But Hugh is not planning to leave anytime soon! He will remain in the residence for the rest of his life under the terms of his agreement with Metropoulos. Since the new owner has been Hugh’s neighbor since 2009, he has his own plan of combining his current property with the 5 acres of the Playboy Mansion to bring it back to the original developers’ idea of a 7.3-acre property of the 1920’s.

Daren-Metropoulos

Daren Metropoulos, the son of billionaire investor C. Dean Metropoulos and principal at the investment firm Metropoulos & Co. states that the property’s’ heritage is not only that of a famous address; it is a true masterpiece in design. The mansion possesses seven bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a wine cellar, home theater, gym, tennis court and swimming pool which is partially covered by a man-made cave.

As public records state, the $100 Million sales price makes it the most expensive home ever sold in Los Angeles County.  It also has its own zoo license. The most expensive sale previously this year in the LA area was $45 Million for an ocean-front home in Laguna Beach in Orange County.
