As the summer heat slowly fades, fall is the perfect time to give your home the attention it needs.

Luckily, California Homeowners are blessed with a quite comfortably warm and cozy winter, and there is less to worry about while preparing your home for the cold weather. It’s time for a filter change.

After your AC has been working on over-drive cooling your home during this summer’s heat wave, it’s now a great time to return the favor with some TLC. It is recommended to replace the HVAC air filters regularly – in spring time and during the fall. You may want to change it more often if you have pets or other variables. Inspect your furnace.

Check outdoor lights and replace bulbs.

As we all know, winter days get shorter and we start relying more on exterior lighting that not only creates a peaceful ambiance, but also provides safety. Test the lights on the front porch and in your back yard, on the garage and in the landscape. Some bulbs might need to be replaced – it’s a great time to do it now.

Clean the fireplace and chimney.
